fish 5A small study involving five patients with neuropathic pain appeared in the Clinical Journal of Pain (2010; 26(2): 168-72). The patients were given a high dose of omega-3 fatty acids (between 2400 and 7200 mg/day of EPA-DHA) over a period of 19 months. All experienced reduction in pain. The authors believe that this indicates omega-3 fatty acids may be beneficial for pain management and more studies are warranted.
