fiberResearch appearing in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Dec. 2007, Vol. 86, No. 6 pp1730-1737) indicates that dietary fiber can reduce a woman’s risk for endometrial cancer. The data from seven case control studies indicate that an extra five grams of fiber per 1000 calories can reduce the risk of endometrial cancer by more than 20%. Excess exposure to estrogen, without the presence of progesterone increases the risk of endometrial cancer. One thing that dietary fiber may do is to help regulate estrogen levels.
