Green Tea and Prostate Cancer

In a 14-year cohort of 49,920 Japanese men (American Journal of Epidemiology, 2008;167:71–77), green tea intake was not linked with localized prostate cancer, but higher intake correlated with lower risk of advanced disease. Men drinking ≥5 cups/day had about a 48% lower risk of advanced prostate cancer versus light/non-drinkers. Observational data show association, not proof; still, it’s a useful dietary signal within a prostate-healthy lifestyle.
