What is the SymptomQuiz?
Finding Your Core Health Issues
This is a Follow-Up to 6 Ways to End Pain and Chronic Health Problems
It does not diagnose disease: SymptomQuiz.com is designed to help you find where you might need nutritional support. It is a tool to help optimize function; NOT treat disease. Medicine is focused on treating symptoms. Here we use your symptoms to help you understand how to best support your health. In 6 Ways to End Pain and Chronic Health Problems, you learned about supporting core health issues and how the Roadmap to Health diet can help you resolve those issues. SymptomQuiz.com will show you more ways to improve your body’s infrastructure.
The computer will prioritize the areas that need attention based on you answers. It will also give you a “Total Health Score” based on how many and how serious your symptoms are. It is like a golf score—you want it to go down. This book will give you strategies for improving your Total Health Score and your symptoms.
30 Days Can Change Your Life
Score: Each category will have one of four degrees of severity. These are (in ascending order):
- Mild (ignore)
- Moderate (high)
- Significant (higher)
- Major (highest)
One Thing at a Time
The categories are listed and numbered below. Some people will have a high score in several categories. Don’t address everything at once. The highest or worst score you can get for a category is “Major”. If you have more than one “Major”, address them one at a time. The categories are numbered, so choose the lowest number category that is Major and address it. Strategies for addressing each category are covered in this book. After 30 days, retake the quiz. Address the Major category with the lowest number again. Chances are that the category you were working on is no longer “Major”, and you can start working on another category. You can keep repeating this until there are no major or significant categories.
If you do not have any “Major” categories, then address the “Significant” categories the same way. Start with the one with the lowest number (if you have more than one “Significant” category). If you do not have any “Major” or “Significant” categories, simply follow the Roadmap to Health diet for 30 days and retake the quiz.

- Reduce inflammation (and pain).
- Help with most digestive problems
- Help healthy bacteria to grow and balance the microbiome
- Provide trace nutrients. It is very nutrient dense.
Scoring the Symptom Questionnaire
Health Categories and Their Score: SymptomQuiz.com will arrange your answers into 11 categories (12 if you count the total digestion score). The categories are listed below (follow the links to learn more):
- Insulin Insensitivity indicates problems with carbohydrate metabolism. Diabetics will also score high here.
- HCl and Enzymes indicates issues with the initial phase of digestion.
- Need to Heal the Intestinal Mucosa is about “leaky gut”, which will be explained later.
- Microbial Issues in the GI/Dysbiosis is about the microbiome and the existence of improper bowel flora. This will be covered in greater detail later.
- Liver may indicate toxicity or difficulty removing toxins.
- Gallbladder shows that you may have trouble digesting fats. The bile may be too thick, which can lead to gallstones.
- Needs Immune Support indicates frequent illness or recurring infections.
- Stress/Adrenal shows that you are under stress or may need adrenal support.
- Hypothyroid shows hypothyroidism. People who are “borderline” or have the “hidden hypothyroidism” will score high here.
- Allergies and Sensitivities tell you if you are dealing with allergies.
- Vitamin, Mineral, and Fatty Acid Need show nutrient deficiencies.
- Total Digestion Score adds the HCl & Enzymes, Microbial Issues, and the Intestinal Mucosa categories and give a score. This is included because it is usually better to address all digestive issues at once.
Total Health Score
There is a total of 326 possible points. It is like a bowling score—you want it to be low. Try to get it below 100. The idea is to follow a program (the Roadmap to Health diet and suggested supplements). Follow the program for 30 days and retake the quiz.”
A Few Words About the Roadmap to Health
This diet is stricter than most people need long-term. Some of the foods not allowed are not a problem for some people. You can begin to add new foods. The diet is designed to address problems like hidden food sensitivities, problems digesting complex carbohydrates, and inflammation in the digestive tract. It’s the reason that the diet is so effective for so many people. Grains, dairy, and complex carbohydrates are not allowed initially. It is gluten-free because there are so many cases of gluten insensitivity and frank celiac disease that are undiagnosed. You should continue to avoid obvious junk (processed foods, sugar, etc.) but may find that you tolerate dairy or some grains in your diet. Click here to download.
Coming off the diet can be a useful diagnostic tool. A problem food can stay with you for 72 hours. If you introduce a new food, like dairy, wait a day and see if you react. If the food is a problem, you will soon know it. If you do not react, you can add a different food the next day. If you do react, do not add a new food for another 72 hours.
