Have Healthier Brain Cells

Phospholipids are important for healthy cell membranes. They are especially important to the cells of the brain and nervous system. Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid that is important for the health of the nervous system. Good memory, concentration, and cognition, can improve with phosphatidylserine. Small amounts are found in cabbage, egg yolks, soybeans, liver and sunflower seeds.

Studies suggest that phosphatidylserine may support memory, learning, concentration, attention, problem-solving, and other aspects of cognitive function. It may also help protect nerve cells from degeneration. ¹

Stress Can Negatively Affect Cognition.

Phosphatidylserine can help individuals under stress to stay in a more relaxed state, as well as improve cognition2. Another study found that taking between 50 and 75 mg of phosphatidylserine blunts the production of stress hormones3.

Phosphatidylserine helps memory and cognition in general. One group of 149 patients meeting criteria for age-associated memory impairment were given PS or a placebo for 12 weeks.  The PS group improved relative to those treated with placebo on performance tests related to learning and memory tasks of daily life4. There have even been a few studies that show it to be beneficial to Alzheimer’s patients5,6.

Try it:

Take between 50 and 100 mg of phosphatidylserine per day for the next 30 days and see what it does for your stress levels and concentration.
