A small, double-blind study published in the British Journal of Nutrition (December 23, 2009; 1–5; Epub ahead of print) examined whether Concord grape juice could influence memory in older adults.
The study included 12 elderly participants who received either Concord grape juice or a placebo daily for 12 weeks. Compared with the placebo group, participants who consumed the grape juice demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in verbal learning, along with non-significant improvements in both verbal and spatial recall.
