A study appearing in the Journal of Tropical Pediatrics (2010 56(1):27-35), looked at 576 children born to women who were infected with HIV. Children with the highest concentrations of vitamin A in the serum had an increased chance of surviving beyond the age of two (49% greater), when compared to the children with the lowest levels of vitamin A.
