Early animal work showed resveratrol calms colitis inflammation and cytokines [1].
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of adults with mild–moderate UC, 500 mg/day resveratrol for 6 weeks improved clinical disease activity and quality of life, with reductions in inflammatory markers versus placebo [2].
Recent reviews conclude resveratrol remains a promising adjunct—supported by consistent preclinical data and emerging human evidence—though larger trials are still needed [3]. Resveratrol is found in grapes (among other things). Sometimes the whole food works well.
